The subtitle, Entropic Systems, refers to the tendency of organizational systems in nature to become disordered. As well, it refers to the futile desires of humankind to order and control the natural world. In these works, stencils based on 18th C. Indian chintz textile patterns, that went awry in my stencil machine, are layered over expressions of the power of nature and famous 19th Century Hudson River School landscape paintings.
